About this role

From Balchem’s careers page.

Welcome to the BDO family, a worldwide consulting firm where you can bring your own personality to your job! We help organizations grow sustainably with our expertise in audit & assurance, tax & legal, advisory and accountancy.

At BDO, you are not just a number. Your wellbeing and development are just as important to us as the personal, hands-on advice and pragmatic solutions we offer our clients. Because as you grow, so do we and so do our clients. That is why our slogan is 'Let's Grow Together'!

We're looking for a junior to join the team in Zaventem as from September 2027 (earlier is not possible). A young graduate, with a near-native level of Dutch which is required for the position to work with clients in Flanders ans Brussels.

What will you be doing?

As a Junior Data Engineer Consultant, you are responsible for working out and developing solutions to clients’ conceptual and technical issues. You are responsible for translating operational problems into workable ICT solutions. You work in a team to deliver and implement these solutions, starting with the analysis of existing systems and processes.

Our solutions relate to various areas of expertise, giving everyone on your team the opportunity to explore multiple areas. We are currently looking for colleagues to join us in the following areas:

Application integration (with WSO2 tool). We connect software together to allow for data synchronisation. We have developed our own SaaS Integration Platform to ensure reliable and fast implementation with new clients.
Data engineering and data science: setting up data warehouses, corporate reporting and machine learning applications.
Process Automation using UiPath integrated RPA technology
Low-code development (OutSystems)

As the world of technology is rapidly evolving, we are always on the lookout for recent and anticipated technological developments in these areas. Within the BDO Digital group, everyone helps each other to explore new challenges and technologies in order to further expand our service portfolio.

You must keep your knowledge and expertise up to date in order to carry out projects in the best possible way. This is achieved by means of internal and external training courses, as well as extensive knowledge sharing within your team during team meetings.

What do you bring to the table?

You are in possession of (or will obtain) a Master’s degree (for example, in Engineering, Data Science, AI, Computer Science, Secure Software or Management Information Systems).
You have strong analytical and abstract thinking skills, are communicative, flexible and results-oriented and aware of the added value of working as a team in order to achieve maximum results. You can work independently and are sufficiently stress-resistant to find solutions even in crisis situations. You are eager to help build a growing, innovative department.
Knowledge of the above technological areas is an asset, but not essential. You do need to have the necessary technological affinity and eagerness to learn new technologies.
You are (near) native in Dutch and have a good knowledge of English.

What do we bring to the table?

Start in a general position and discover which types of clients, duties or specialisations suit you best. After the starters days, you will build your own career along with your other new colleagues.
Take on increasing amounts of responsibility as the rest of your team stands by, ready to support you.
BDO Academy’s extensive list of training courses helps you grow both personally and professionally.
Sample projects from other Business Practices through our “flex pool”.
Options to work from home or from the nearest office, for example, and flexible working hours.
A competitive salary package with many attractive benefits such as a net expense allowance, company car, mobile phone plan, hospitalisation insurance, etc.
Work at a company with an integrated sustainability policy on issues such as climate impact and equality, diversity and inclusion, which actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Were you nodding to yourself enthusiastically as you read through the job description? Then be sure to send us your CV right away! May we soon welcome you as a new colleague!
