About this role
About the role: - AEREO is hiring a Software Development Engineer Intern in Bengaluru. - This is a 6-month, in-office internship. - Interns will work alongside experienced engineers on production systems. - The company is building Aereo Cloud, an enterprise geospatial intelligence platform. - The platform converts drone data into 2D and 3D visualizations, AI-powered analytics, digital twins and actionable insights. - Aereo Cloud serves enterprise use cases across mining, infrastructure, energy and utilities. What you'll work on: - Contribute to backend services used in production systems. - Build and work with APIs as part of the platform. - Gain exposure to authentication systems and related backend workflows. - Work with cloud infrastructure and data-intensive engineering problems. - Write clean and maintainable software while solving practical product challenges. What we're looking for: - Strong Python fundamentals are required. - Hands-on experience with Django and/or FastAPI is expected. - Candidates should understand REST APIs, SQL and object-oriented programming. - Good debugging and problem-solving skills are important. - Familiarity with Git and GitHub is required. - Applicants should have a genuine interest in building products and learning through practical engineering work. Good to have: - Knowledge of React or TypeScript is a plus. - Familiarity with Docker, Redis or cloud platforms is beneficial. - Exposure to GIS is also considered useful. Selection process: - Instead of relying only on resumes, AEREO provides two practical engineering assignments. - Candidates should choose one assignment, build the solution and publish it on GitHub to demonstrate their engineering approach.
