About the role: - Join Canonical as a graduate software engineer and grow your skills in a globally distributed team that builds Ubuntu and open-source infrastructure - Write production code daily in Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript or Java depending on your project and team - Contribute to real-world systems that power cloud computing, containers, and enterprise deployments across the world - Work on meaningful features and improvements alongside experienced engineers who will mentor your development What we're looking for: - An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics or a related STEM field with substantial programming coursework - Strong command of at least one of Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript or Java, with ability to write clean and reliable code from day one - Hands-on familiarity with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution - Consistently strong academic results throughout your schooling and degree - A portfolio of personal technology projects built outside your studies that demonstrate initiative and passion - A track record of pushing beyond what is expected to deliver exceptional outcomes - Fluency in written and spoken English for collaboration across teams - Strong problem-solving instincts paired with curiosity about how systems work - Genuine interest in learning, self-reflection and continuous improvement - Reliability and follow-through on the work you commit to - Natural ability to work well with others and adapt to new environments and challenges - Willingness to travel internationally up to two weeks per year for company gatherings and events
