About the role: - Build and ship features across the full stack, from the user-facing editor to the backend services that power it - Tackle genuinely difficult browser challenges including real-time collaborative editing, smooth playback of media, and client-side handling of large files - Contribute to shaping the AI editing experience that enables the agent to make actual edits to user content - Maintain product speed and stability even when users work on large, complex projects - Take on hard technical problems and solve them What you'll work on: - End-to-end feature ownership across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers - Database query optimization and performance tuning - Rendering workers and browser state management - Real-time editing systems and performance monitoring - Code quality and reliability across the entire codebase What we're looking for: - Strong fundamentals in software engineering with a track record of owning features from conception to production - Comfort moving between frontend and backend work without hesitation - Willingness to dive into complex database queries, rendering logic, and tricky browser state problems - Deep commitment to code quality and performance as core values - Eye for user experience details—you notice when interactions feel slow or rough and take action to improve them - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, lightweight environment where you set your own standards Bonus skills: - Background in media or video processing - Experience building real-time systems or offline-first applications - Prior work integrating or building on top of large language models
