About the role: - Part of the Engineering Excellence Consumer Operations Technology team at Citi, a leading financial institution - Focus on designing, developing, and testing business-critical application systems that support consumer operations What you'll do: - Design and build enhancements to application systems, applying development knowledge to solve defined business problems - Create and run automated test scripts to validate functionality, catch defects, and ensure software quality throughout development and release cycles - Diagnose application issues, evaluate solutions, and implement fixes aligned with business processes and industry standards - Write clean, maintainable code to meet design specifications using scripting tools and debugging techniques - Build working knowledge of Citi's systems, network operations, databases, and client-server architecture across the full development lifecycle - Make technical decisions in situations not covered by existing procedures, using sound judgment - Flag risk and compliance considerations in technical decisions to ensure changes meet required standards What they're looking for: - 2-5 years of experience in application development, software testing, or related technical work - Strong proficiency in at least one of: Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C# - Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium for UI testing; REST Assured, Karate Framework, Postman/Newman, or SoapUI for API testing; Cucumber, SpecFlow, or TestNG/JUnit for BDD/TDD - Experience with Git/Bitbucket/GitHub, Jenkins, Tekton, Docker, and CI/CD pipeline tools - Ability to work with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB), and write complex SQL queries - Familiarity with service virtualization and mocking tools like Mockito or WireMock - Experience with JIRA, Xray/Zephyr, Confluence, or HP ALM/Octane for test management and bug tracking Good to know: - Experience in consumer operations technology or financial services development is a plus - Knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and test automation frameworks is valued - Familiarity with client-server architecture, database administration, or systems administration is beneficial - Based in Chennai
