Senior Applied AI Engineer (Fine Tuning)

About the role: - Conqr AI is hiring a Senior Applied AI Engineer for a remote position in India. - The role focuses on building production AI systems and taking work from research and experimentation through deployment. - Candidates should have 3+ years of overall experience as an AI Engineer. - Conqr AI is an early-stage startup building AI products for regulated and document-heavy professional workflows. - The company emphasizes privacy, security, reliability and enterprise-grade product quality. What you'll work on: - Own end-to-end delivery of AI and ML systems from experimentation through production rollout. - Train, fine-tune and optimize machine learning models, including LLMs and open-weight models. - Build training, data-processing and inference pipelines. - Improve model accuracy, latency, reliability and cost efficiency. - Implement MLOps practices covering deployment, monitoring, CI/CD and automated retraining. - Build evaluation frameworks, benchmark datasets and quality checks for production models. - Design scalable APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to other systems. - Work with Product, Backend and Frontend teams to integrate AI into customer-facing workflows. - Monitor production systems and continuously improve model and infrastructure performance. - Research emerging AI methods, tools and frameworks for possible adoption. What we're looking for: - Strong hands-on experience fine-tuning AI or ML models for production use cases is required. - Candidates should understand LLM model selection, dataset preparation, training, evaluation and optimization. - Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow and scikit-learn are expected. - Applicants should have deployed and maintained fine-tuned models in production environments. - Familiarity with LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT and other parameter-efficient fine-tuning approaches is required. - Experience with model evaluation, monitoring and performance optimization is expected. - Candidates should have hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, along with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and MLOps practices. - Strong understanding of APIs, distributed-system architecture, PostgreSQL and modern data infrastructure is required. - Experience with RAG systems and vector databases is considered a strong plus. - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are expected.
