Security Engineer Intern (Software)

About the role: - Conduct security assessments and penetration testing using industry-standard tools to identify weaknesses in web and mobile applications - Demonstrate proficiency with security platforms such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, and Postman to uncover and document vulnerabilities - Research and understand attack vectors covered by the OWASP Top 10 framework for both web and mobile environments - Work with developers to communicate findings clearly and guide them through remediation steps What we're looking for: - Strong grasp of common web and mobile application security vulnerabilities and how to identify them - Hands-on skill in locating, exploiting, and fixing security flaws in code - Ability to read and understand code written in Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript - Experience writing automation scripts to support security testing or defensive measures - Active involvement in competitive security environments such as CTFs, bug bounty platforms, HackTheBox, or TryHackMe - Demonstrated ability to break down complex security concepts into clear explanations for technical teams Preferred experience: - Background in cloud security practices, particularly with AWS or GCP - Recognition in a major technology company's Bug Bounty program Hall of Fame - Contributions to open-source security projects
