Software Backend Intern

About the role: - Build and sustain backend services and APIs that handle real user traffic and scale with demand - Create code that other engineers can read, maintain, and build upon for months to come - Plug modern solutions into the product stack and keep systems running smoothly - Work directly with the engineering team on features that ship to live users What you'll work on: - MongoDB databases and Node.js application logic - Express.js server architecture and REST API design - Full-stack features that touch both backend systems and React.js frontends - Code reviews and collaborative problem-solving with senior engineers What we're looking for: - Solid grasp of MERN Stack fundamentals and how web technologies fit together - Working knowledge of REST APIs, how to design them and consume them - Experience managing databases and writing SQL or NoSQL queries - Comfort with Git and version control workflows - Strong analytical thinking and ability to break down complex problems - Willingness to pick up new tools and frameworks quickly - A mindset that takes ownership of problems and sees them through to resolution
