About this role
About the role: - Build and sustain backend services using Python alongside REST API development. - Retrieve, store and manage data through relational databases while constructing the logic that powers applications. - Plug AI and machine learning APIs into production systems. - Ensure code quality through documentation, testing and elimination of bugs. - Participate in team development with version control using Git and GitHub. What you'll work on: - Python-based server-side architecture and API endpoints. - Database queries, schema design, and data persistence. - Integration points where third-party AI services connect to your backend. - Code reviews and collaborative problem-solving with peers. What we're looking for: - Solid grasp of Python and core backend principles. - Working knowledge of REST API design, JSON data formats, and SQL or relational databases. - Exposure to at least one framework: FastAPI, Flask, or Django. - Comfort with Git and GitHub workflows. - Logical thinking and ability to break down complex problems. - Drive to pick up new skills and technologies on the job. Good to know: - Prior work with AI APIs from OpenAI or Gemini is valued. - Experience containerizing applications with Docker strengthens your application. - Background in cloud platforms or LLM integration is a plus. - Familiarity with RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) systems is beneficial.
