Associate Database Engineer

About this role

Batch: 2024/2025/2026. What you'll work on: - Support and maintain PostgreSQL databases across various environments - Execute SQL queries and troubleshoot database performance issues - Assist with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures - Monitor database health and respond to alerts - Support replication and high-availability setups - Collaborate with development and operations teams on database tasks - Document processes and maintain knowledge base entries - Learn database administration best practices and tools What we're looking for: - Solid grasp of PostgreSQL concepts and SQL fundamentals - Comfortable with Linux OS and standard command-line operations - Understanding of core database concepts including tables, indexes, joins, constraints, and transactions - Familiarity with database backup and recovery principles - Knowledge of replication and high-availability fundamentals - Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve problems logically - Clear communicator who works well with others - Eager to expand your skills in database technologies - Ready to adapt to rotating shift schedules and rotating weekly days off Your background: - B.Tech, B.E., M.Tech, M.E., or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline - Academic projects or internship experience involving PostgreSQL, SQL, Linux, Python, or databases is a strong plus - Experience with Python or Bash scripting is advantageous - Exposure to AWS or GCP cloud platforms is a bonus Additional strengths: - PostgreSQL administration fundamentals - Hands-on experience with database monitoring and management tools - Practical knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and availability mechanisms - PostgreSQL or related database certifications - Genuine passion for pursuing a career in Database Engineering or Database Administration
