About this role
About the role: - Build and refine user interfaces using React and TypeScript in a production environment - Design and implement state management solutions that scale across the application - Create responsive, themeable designs using Tailwind CSS or similar frameworks - Contribute to and maintain shared component libraries used across teams - Ship features that work reliably across browsers and devices What you'll bring: - Proven track record shipping React and TypeScript codebases to production; you can point to your work and articulate what you'd approach differently in hindsight - Deep understanding of state architecture—knowing when to keep state local versus global, and how data changes propagate through an application using tools like MobX, Redux, Zustand or comparable libraries - Ability to write CSS with precision, building responsive interfaces that adapt to different screen sizes and themes, with attention to detail that catches alignment issues before code review - Experience building inside shared component libraries and awareness of how components break when used in unexpected ways Additional strengths we'd value: - You have measured and optimized slow interfaces to be fast, and can quote the specific improvement - You have contributed to Plane itself, deployed and maintained it self-hosted, or stewarded another open project that others depend on - You have worked directly inside rich-text editor frameworks such as ProseMirror, CodeMirror, Lexical or Tiptap, beyond simply building on top of one - You have built offline-first or CRDT-backed applications and have thought through conflict resolution strategies - You have designed interfaces where AI agents take action on real data, considering how to represent authorship and decision authority
