Associate Software Engineer

About the role: - Develop and maintain software applications as part of a collaborative engineering team - Work with Java-based systems using enterprise frameworks and build tools to create scalable solutions - Build and optimize RESTful APIs and web services that connect frontend and backend systems - Write and refine frontend code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or equivalent frameworks - Interact with relational databases including MariaDB and PostgreSQL to design schemas and optimize queries - Debug, test, and troubleshoot issues across the full stack using systematic problem-solving approaches - Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining code quality standards What we're looking for: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - Strong command of Java including object-oriented principles, design patterns, and framework ecosystems - Hands-on experience with Spring, JUnit, Maven, Ant, or similar Java tooling - Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for building user-facing features - Knowledge of RESTful architecture and API development principles - Demonstrated ability with SQL and relational database systems such as MariaDB and PostgreSQL - Proven debugging and problem-solving skills when facing complex technical challenges - Excellent written and verbal communication in a team environment - Genuine interest in continuous learning and keeping pace with evolving technology trends Why this could be for you: - Experience with Progress development tools and technologies is valued - Background in Agile workflows and CI/CD automation is a plus - Familiarity with shell scripting and Python is a bonus - You'll work in an environment that encourages staying current with industry advances
