Software Engineer (SDE-1)

About the role

• You'll construct backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL that power Rever's platform.
• ERP and financial integrations, APIs, and data pipelines form the core of what you'll build.
• You'll develop intelligent agents using Pydantic AI, designing typed dependencies and structured outputs to handle complex workflows.
• Building agent tools falls to you—these retrieve financial data, execute deterministic checks, and gather evidence for decision-making.
• Creating evaluation frameworks, test datasets, and regression tests ensures your agents perform reliably.
• You'll work on agent orchestration, tracing, error handling, and performance optimization across the system.

What we're looking for

• Strong foundation in Python, SQL, and API design.
• Proven track record shipping backend applications to production.
• Working knowledge of large language models, tool calling, and agent-based architectures.
• Commitment to data accuracy, comprehensive testing, and code you'd want to maintain.
• Self-directed approach, genuine curiosity about problems, and clear communication.
• Experience with Pydantic AI, agent evaluation frameworks, OAuth flows, background job systems, or financial domain knowledge is a bonus.
• Portfolio of personal projects or open-source code demonstrates your capabilities.
