About this role
About the team: Salesforce's Big Data infrastructure team builds data processing systems for large-scale analytics across internal and external customers. What you'll do: - Design and develop scalable services using Spark, Trino, Airflow, and Kafka for real-time and batch data processing. - Build reliable distributed systems that operate across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers. - Debug and resolve technical challenges to improve system resilience, availability, and performance. - Maintain services across their full lifecycle: live-site reliability, feature development, and reducing technical debt. - Participate in on-call rotation for critical services. What they're looking for: - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible). - Working knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Trino or similar SQL engines, Airflow, Kafka, and their ecosystems. - Strong coding in Python, Java, Scala, or other languages used in distributed systems. - Understanding of distributed computing: data partitioning, fault tolerance, performance tuning. - Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize for efficiency and scale.
