ML Researcher Intern

About the role: - Conduct applied research in machine learning topics chosen by the team, working alongside experienced researchers to develop new methods and validate ideas through experiments - Implement and prototype ML systems using Python and deep learning frameworks to test hypotheses and measure performance - Read, analyze, and build upon existing machine learning research to stay current with the field and inform your own work - Contribute to the research output by documenting findings and participating in the knowledge-sharing culture of the lab What we're looking for: - Solid grasp of core machine learning concepts: optimization techniques, gradient descent mechanics, and how neural networks function - Proficiency in Python combined with hands-on experience in at least one deep learning framework—PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow - A completed ML project you can point to, whether from coursework, personal exploration, or academic research - Comfort reading and extracting insights from ML research papers - Currently pursuing or recently finished a BTech, MTech, or MS degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related discipline Bonus skills and experience: - Familiarity with transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, or large language models - Work with retrieval systems, vector embeddings, or similarity search - Understanding of reinforcement learning principles and methods - Published research papers or active contributions to open-source ML projects - A track record of building personal machine learning projects outside of formal coursework
