About this role
About the role: - Join Scalio as a founding software engineer to shape the technical direction and build core infrastructure from the ground up - You'll own the full lifecycle of production systems, from architecture and development through deployment and ongoing operations - Work across the backend stack to establish patterns and practices that scale as the team grows What you'll work on: - Design and implement robust backend systems handling relational data, asynchronous processing, and concurrent workloads - Build payment processing integrations that meet compliance and reliability standards - Establish cloud operations practices and infrastructure automation - Develop AI product infrastructure that powers the platform's core capabilities - Take ownership of system performance, reliability, and security in production environments What we're looking for: - 4+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals - Demonstrated success independently building and operating production systems at scale - Hands-on expertise with relational databases, message queues, retry logic, and concurrency patterns - Experience in early-stage startups where you owned significant technical decisions - Background with AI product infrastructure, payment integrations, or cloud operations is a strong advantage
