Associate Software Engineer (Testing)

About the role: - Develop and execute test automation scripts using Python and/or JavaScript - Build and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure software quality and reliability - Design and document individual test cases and comprehensive test plans - Participate in continuous integration workflows using tools like Jenkins - Collaborate with software engineers throughout the organization on quality assurance efforts What you'll work on: - Creating test automation solutions that support rapid development cycles and deployment pipelines - Testing applications across VMware and AWS environments - Reading and understanding Python codebases to identify testing requirements - Implementing automated tests on Linux systems - Monitoring and improving test execution processes What we're looking for: - Solid proficiency in Python - Hands-on experience writing, updating and running test automation scripts in Python or JavaScript - Familiarity with continuous integration and automated build, deployment and testing platforms such as Jenkins - Working experience with Linux operating systems - Knowledge of VMware and AWS cloud environments - Ability to read and comprehend Python code - Strong communication skills with peers and cross-functional teams - Self-directed approach to work with the ability to pick up new tools and practices independently - Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail - Genuine curiosity about technology and a passion for quality assurance - Collaborative mindset that works effectively with engineers across different teams Desirable: - Experience with behavior-driven development frameworks such as Cucumber or Gherkin - Background in performance and scale testing - Knowledge of security testing practices
