Intern – Software Development and Testing

About the role: - Develop and test software solutions as part of Siemens Gamesa's engineering team - Contribute to projects involving Python, MATLAB, and Latex-based workflows - Participate in continuous integration and deployment pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Artifactory - Engage in code reviews and collaborative development using version control systems including Git and Mercurial - Support testing activities across software modules and features What you'll work on: - Writing clean, object-oriented Python and MATLAB code for engineering applications - Implementing test cases and validating software functionality - Managing code repositories and tracking changes through distributed version control - Collaborating with senior engineers on agile project teams using Jira and related tools - Contributing documentation and technical write-ups in Latex What we're looking for: - Currently in your 3rd or 4th year of a B.Tech programme, or 1st year of an M.Tech programme, in Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field - Strong foundation in Python programming and MATLAB - Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles - Practical knowledge of software testing methodologies - Familiarity with Git and hands-on experience with distributed version control systems such as Mercurial - Experience with agile development tools like Jira - Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail - Ability to work effectively in teams and communicate clearly in both written and spoken English - Willingness to learn new tools and technologies quickly and independently - Project portfolio or academic coursework demonstrating relevant programming experience is a plus
