About the role: - Build and maintain test infrastructure that enables reliable shipping of AI-driven features and products - Design automation systems that handle non-deterministic behavior and agentic workflows - Own the quality and reliability of systems end-to-end, from test design to production monitoring - Work across APIs, databases, and CI pipelines to catch issues before they reach users - Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams in a fast-moving environment What you'll work on: - Writing and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright or similar modern tools - Creating evaluation suites and prompt regression harnesses for LLM-based features - Building test infrastructure from first principles, tailored to your product's needs - Analyzing production logs and performance data to identify reliability gaps - Designing tests for systems that behave unpredictably or learn over time - Documenting defects, trade-offs, and technical decisions with clarity and precision What we're looking for: - 1 to 2 years of hands-on software engineering experience in a product setting - Fluent Python skills including async programming, HTTP clients, and clean, maintainable code - Direct experience with Playwright or equivalent depth in a modern automation framework - Familiarity with APIs, databases, CI pipelines, and reading production logs - Technical curiosity and strong problem-solving ability, particularly around AI workflows - Ability to prioritize defects based on user impact and business risk - Clear communication and comfort thriving in collaborative, fast-paced teams - Mindset of ownership that connects technical work to real business outcomes Nice to have: - Experience building evaluation frameworks or testing tools for AI-powered systems - Track record of shipping features as a developer and then moving toward quality engineering - Portfolio of side projects, personal scripts, internal tools, or self-directed technical work - Strong writing skills for bug reports and technical documentation
