About this role
About the role: - Deploy and develop software solutions directly with clients, bridging engineering and customer needs in a forward-deployed capacity. - Build backend systems and APIs that power business-critical applications for enterprises. - Work across the full stack: design interfaces in Figma, write backend code, and manage databases to ship end-to-end features. - Conduct code reviews and maintain high engineering standards across the codebase. - Gather product requirements from site supervisors and senior leadership, translate them into technical specifications, and prioritize competing demands. What you'll work on: - Backend development using Python or TypeScript/Node.js to create robust, scalable services. - REST API design and implementation paired with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases. - Building and optimizing large language model applications: prompt engineering, document extraction, retrieval systems, tool-calling agents, and evaluation frameworks. - Infrastructure and deployment: Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Docker containerization, and cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Mobile application development using React Native or Flutter, with a focus on offline-first architectures. - Data migration projects from Excel sheets and legacy systems into modern databases. - User interface design and usability improvements in collaboration with product teams. What we're looking for: - 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a client-facing, founding-engineer, product-engineer, or forward-deployed role. - Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js for backend systems. - Strong SQL and relational database design skills. - Hands-on experience with LLM applications and their practical deployment. - Ability to review code critically and maintain code quality standards. - Comfort with version control, containerization, and cloud-native development. - Product mindset: you can write clear specs, make sound trade-off decisions, and design functional UIs. - Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Fluency in both Hindi and English. - Willingness to work from client sites and travel during project onboarding phases. Good to know: - Experience with enterprise software such as ERP, HRMS, or accounting systems is valued. - Familiarity with Indian business software like Tally, GST compliance, TDS, or payroll systems is a plus. - Background in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or field operations brings useful domain knowledge. - Knowledge of Indian regional languages beyond Hindi strengthens your candidacy.
