Senior Backend Engineer

Batch: 2019/2020/2021/2022. About the role: - Build and maintain backend systems that power Vyn's platform, working on services that handle complex integrations and data flows at scale - Design and implement REST APIs that external partners consume, owning integration projects from requirements through to production - Collaborate with external technical stakeholders to translate unclear or evolving requirements into robust system designs - Write automated tests as a core part of your development practice, covering both unit and integration testing What we're looking for: - At least 4 years of professional backend development experience, with a minimum of 2 years spent building production systems using Python - Track record of designing REST APIs and consuming them reliably; you've shepherded at least one third-party integration all the way through to live use - Strong conviction that testing belongs in your workflow from day one, not as a patch added later - Hands-on experience with AWS services including compute instances, message queuing systems like SQS, and managed database offerings - Comfort reasoning about trade-offs in distributed systems: how to keep services available, performant, and dependable when multiple components are at play - Ability to take fuzzy requirements from non-technical or partially-technical partners and turn them into a concrete technical approach Nice to have: - Background working with Salesforce or similar partner platform ecosystems - Experience building multi-tenant connector frameworks or similar abstraction layers - Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools for managing cloud resources - Time spent at a B2B SaaS company navigating the challenges of rapid growth and scale
