About the role: - Join Wayfair as a Software Engineer Intern with an AI-first and Generative AI focus. - Wayfair is applying AI across its e-commerce ecosystem, including discovery, recommendations, customer experiences and engineering workflows. - Interns may work across Search & Recommendations, Storefront Tech, Supply Chain Retail Tech, Marketing Technology, ML Platforms & Infrastructure or Global Supplier Tech. What you'll work on: - Contribute to software products and systems supporting Wayfair's large-scale e-commerce platform. - Build engineering solutions with exposure to AI-assisted and GenAI development workflows. - Apply software engineering fundamentals across areas such as backend, frontend, cloud, mobile or platform development depending on team placement. - Work with experienced engineers while solving production-scale technical problems. - Use modern engineering and AI tools throughout parts of the software development lifecycle. Eligibility & requirements: - Candidates should currently be in the 7th semester of a full-time B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science. - Applicants must be available for an internship during their 8th semester. - A strong academic track record and interest in emerging technology, AI and software engineering are expected. - Exposure to object-oriented programming and languages such as Python, Java or C++ is relevant. - Familiarity with full-stack, mobile or cloud development is useful. - Web technologies mentioned include SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python. - Enthusiasm for using GenAI tools to build high-quality software is valued. - Strong autonomy, problem-solving, ownership and communication skills are expected.
